Updating to 2.0 Firmware from another computer?

I'm out of town and want to get the 2.0 firmware as soon as it is up on iTunes. Problem is i'm on another PC. Would I be able to update without syncing?

Also does anybody know if it erases everything when you update the firmware. If so I guess I'll have to wait until I get back to Dallas. 😡

yes it erases everything. do not try and update. wait till you get home

I have a similar situation and I dont really care about my media being deleted. I am worried about what effect buying apps with my temporary account will do. Will I be able to transfer them to my primary account or will I have to buy them again?
