Im pretty sure you can just download and then update from the GM somewhere!

Did you know that if we look at previous GM for iOS. Near 50% of the time the GMs have been different lol

No, they haven't... Maybe once, a GM was REPLACED after a show-stopping bug was found in a prior GM but they are not different. The public release *is* the GM release.

The one coming out in a few days, I was just curious. So I can update via iTunes correct?

Correct. Barring a major, unforeseen bug the GM released to Devs in a few days will be the same public release received by everyone else later. It will not check your UDID and you can safely install it fresh via iTunes.

So much misinformation

The ONLY time a GM has been different is iOS 4.2....A 2nd GM was released known as 4.2.1

It's mind boggling, honestly. GM = Gold Master = Public Release. It's simple and it's been this way for OS X and iOS since introduction. Why so many are pushing against this lately I have no idea.

The only one that comes to mind was the GM for iOS 4. Or maybe it was 4.2 like another poster pointed out.

Typically the GM is the same build number as the public release.

No kidding. I used to come here a lot and post but lately I feel like I'm just banging my head against a wall.

So many threads of "GM Today?" Really? It comes out the Keynote day, as it always has. Why would it be any different this time?

Thank you very much, got a straight answer. Lol to the people thinking I'm asking when the GM is coming out or thinks it's out

I don't think you understand what is on that page. lol

One wise would understand that since iOS 7 is the biggest change we've ever seen in iOS, chances are higher to see a different release build.

If that link was a way of admitting your previous 50% remark was wrong then that's fine; it certainly shows that it was incorrect. Indeed it confirms that only one release shipped with a different build number. ;)

You should take a look at http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/Beta_Firmware as well and the idea that a beta release can also be a GM should really blow your mind.

Yeah I know that, my previous source was wrong, realized too late!

You can shift + update to the GM. It's the public release of iOS 7.0. The only way the GM will be different from the public release is when a showstopper bug comes along, in that case iOS 7.0 won't be released to the public, but iOS 7.0.1 will.

Next iphones are already being shipped out of China. These phones have been loaded with the GM.

We still need iTunes to be updated to support iOS 7 completely. Getting tired of syncing my apps that have over 12 apps in a folder and it boots them out of the folder.
