I have an outdated version of xcode and I want to upgrade. My question is, should I download it and the installer will get rid of the old version or should I manually delete xcode, then install the new one. I really only asking this to save space, and which one will save the most space, or if they're the same.

Thanks

It should just replace it once you install the newer version of Xcode. I think this has been my experience the last two times I have updated it. So no, you don't have to manually delete it

Or leave the current Xcode alone

If you want, you can leave the current Xcode installation alone, then custom install the new Xcode in a different folder. This gives you a fallback (the old version) in case the new version has something you can't live with.
