upgarade operating system ?

i have snow leopard on imac. can i upgrade ipad 1 to snow leopard? thank you

Go to settings, general, about. If the version is 5.1.1, it is upgraded as high as possible. But if it shows a different version, you can upgrade it by going to settings, general, software update, and you can upgrade from there.

It's 5.1.1, not 5.0.1.
