Well, before I sort of knew what I was doing, I had upgraded my daughter's iBook indigo (366 with 320ram) from OS 9.2.2 to OS 10.3.9 Panther, keeping 9.2.2 as Classic...However, I didn't bring the Frimware up to 4.1.7 first...How can I do that now, since I believe I should...Actually seems to work fine, and not sure what the firmware upgrade will do, or does (can someone tell me), but think I should get it right. I'd hate to have to clean the drive and start all over..is there a reasonable solution...Thanks

I think you have to do it from the OS 9 CD. The support section of Apple's web site does have info on this. Try searching for iBook firmware update. I ran into a similar problem with an old iMac G3, but I can't now recall why it was necessary.

If I find some info on it, I will post the link.

Edit: Here is a helpful link: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86117

It indicates that it must be done from an OS 9 system folder, not a CD.
