iPod touch Upgrade firmware without iTunes

I have an 8gb 3rd gen iPod Touch on 3.1.3 firmware. Problem is I use Linux and don't have access to a Windows computer, so I can't use iTunes. Is there any way to upgrade?

VirtualBox with Windows XP is the the most space saving solution. You could go 7 (Vista too, but I wouldn't) as well, but it takes more space on disk. If you don't want Windows on your System for some fundamental ideological issues, get a Mac. It's UNIX. 🙂

No. Not without Windows.

Install Windows 7 without using a serial number. Upgrade iPod touch during trial period. Delete virtual machine.
