I’m looking at moving from iPhone 12 (regular) to 13 mini and wondered if anyone has done the same? Is the reduced display size a major change? Do the faster processor and cinematic mode make it a worthwhile upgrade? Can you comfortably use a mini 13 with one hand on the go? I find my 13 strains my thumb at times so that’s a potential plus point).

Not quite what you asked but. I went from a mini to a 13 pro. The pro is better in every way but the size. The mini is a great phone though, much easier to one hand. You can’t go wrong with either. Before I sent the mini in for trade, I used the Pro for a couple weeks. When I finally boxed up the mini the size difference was really noticeable.

Ok I hesitated and I’m the process waited to go from 12 mini to 13 mini. I ended up buying a used mini 13 mint condition (I dropped it the second day unfortunately). Anyway worth it. Battery life is way better than I could have though. Also the speakers are nicer and louder and fuller.

It depends on your 1) usage and 2) battery expectations. I love 12 mini size but hate how hot it can be and how bad battery it has. Also I see 3) a lot more typos when using both hands to type (onehanded typing is really amazing for me). Those 3 things made me thinking about going from 12 mini to 13 instead of 13 mini. You have to decide these factors, best is to try them out in AS.

That’s really interesting - I ended up getting a 13 mini but returned it after a few days for similar reasons you gave. I loved the one hand scrolling etc when on the go but I came to realise that I use the phone a lot more for two-handed typing and I struggled with that on the mini (lots of typos too!). Other than that it was a great phone, but it wasn’t the best for the my use case, so I’ve just changed for a regular 13 which I’m really enjoying. Thanks everyone for your input - hopefully this thread might help others facing a similar predicament!

Thank you. Some days I feel like mini is the best phone on the world, no problems with typos even with two hands and some days I made so many typos I can’t even believe it. ? I really do have love/hate relationship with mini and it’s not even 13 mini. ? I think that base on longer tryout period during holidays, I will try 13 and if I can accomodate it in my life, it wil be my new go to device. If not, I can always came back to mini. ?

You know for me, yeah I could afford the largest iPhone. But really, there's something about texting one handed while walking my dog and transferring money or other things one handed while engaged in other activities. Its priceless for me. And when I want a big screen than I go for the mini 6 with split screen multitasking.

True, this is magnificient. Maybe I will give a try to bigger one and return it for a mini if it wouldn’t be that OK for me.
