upgrade from 4.0.2 to 4.2 on iphone4?

Hello, i have a factory unlocked iphone 4G jailbroken and running on 4.0.2. I just wanted to know if i should upgrade it to 4.2? Are there any benefits to it and how do i jailbreak it....should i use latest redsn0w and will it be a tethered jailbreak?

I guess i will just stay with 4.0.2....4.2.1 doesnt seem worth it
