I don't think so as it'll be a fresh 5.0 rather than an update. Unless beta 8 becomes the upgrade path to GM.

Possibly, no one knows.

Backups from beta ios5 might not be compatible and icloud wipe are quite possible, requiring config as new device or from your ancient 4.x backup. Its done in the MMO world for example, its not unheard of.

I got an error when manually updated with the ispw through iTunes, so I had to manually restore it

No, you will need to update/restore to offiicial 5.0 and from then on you can use OTA updates.
