My current configuration is a 16" M1Max with 32 GB of RAM and 1TB. Considering a smaller 14" M5Pro with 48GB RAM/1TB - I'm wondering if "downgrading" from the Max to the Pro would still be a big upgrade in this case or if it could be a downgrade in any way. Just not sure I need the Max, as it's so much more expensive than when I got the M1 in Canada. The heaviest work I do is Photoshop and Lightroom.
Frankly I don't even feel like I'm pushing my current MacBook too much, I'm just thinking how it's nearing five years old, of future RAM price increases, and future proofing (already seeing how my current MacBook will now be insufficient for 120hz on an Apple display).
