Have you seen it in person?

After years of silver and space grey, I sprung a year and a half ago for the Starlight. I had seen the photos — some of which made it look silver — others made it look a garish gold. I visited a local store and discovered it wasn't a garish gold at all, but a subdued almost grayish gold and the color varied greatly depending on the light — daylight, incandescent, LED, etc. it even looks silver in many conditions.

N.B. Under those harsh fluorescent lights in computer stores, it's hard to tell the actual color it will appear at home!

We were surprised at how much we like the color…

Yes. It is really nice - just not for me. I'm just all in with the Silver/Grey aesthetic with 2 x Apple studio display, Caldigit dock - Steel/Glass office desk etc. The 'off-silver' hues of Starlight and Sky Blue offer pops of color that don't go with my home/office.

If you like to own the latest and greatest think about getting a MBP next time. Once the MBA is out the next gen SOC might follow very soon.

I can’t decide what to get…need a new MBA just for easy stuff, nothing heavy but wanted to last as long as possible.

Already decided to go with 16gb and 512gb but don’t know if I should choose:

M3 at 1200€
Or
M4 at 1460€

The last blade M1 Gold was the ghetto gold. If I go for the latest Air, Starlight is what I would choose. Sadly though the shape of the M2-M4 doesn't inspire me, I am still waiting for the lit logo to come back :(

Only if you use MBA + 2 HDMI screens then its much betyer with M4 screen support. No need to close any lids.
