Upgrade & Hack iPhone 2G 1.1.4

Ok, i've got an iPhone 2G with 1.1.4 here. It's jailbroken and cracked and I don't know what, but I can use every sim card I want and I have installer.app

Now I want to upgrade to 2.1 (I guess) but still keep all my text messages and stuff. When I just crack the 2.1 firmware with quickpwn or any other way can I still put a "backup" back with iTunes with all my text messages?

I beleave you restore update get the contacts back then jailbreak again. 😀 It should work.
