Dear All,

I wonder whether it is possible to install a new SSD disk inside of my iMac Pro and run Windows on this new SSD disk? At the moment I run Windows either via Parallels Desktop or Bootcamp. Either of these causes some issues with the Software that I use.

iMac Pro specs:

IMAC PRO 27"/CTO
PROCESSOR 3.0GHZ 10-CORE INTEL XEON
MEMORY 128GB 2666MHZ DDR4 ECC MEMORY
STORAGE 1TB SSD
GRAPHICS RADEON PRO VEGA 64X 16GB HBM2

I look forward to your response and thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Jan

Not add one inside, but you can replace the original NAND modules for bigger models, but this is an extremely advanced and expensive upgrade operation since the iMac Pro firmware is also stored inside the same NAND modules.

You can use Windows via a Thunderbolt external SSD, easy to do.

Thank you for the helpful response.

Say, that I would replace the NAND modules. Would that allow me to run two operating systems separately without using BootCamp?

Does running Windows on the external SSD affect computer performance?
