Yes, make sure that MacProEFIUpdate.dmg is mounted before running the Firmware Tool.

hi I've got similar problem but at start up the updating bar just jump and then restart with the 4.1 with no upgrade
can anione help please

If you did not get your problem resolved, I would check OS. No success under 10.11.3 but 10.7.5 worked. Remember to have the Apple 5.1 firmware update mounted as well (and not the B07 firmware like some idiots did. like myself)
