Sheeeet! I will trade you 3 PM G4s for your mini.

BTW, why does the wow factor fade so fast on a mini? It couldn't be any worse than my air.

I find the whole "mini" thing boring. Do I need an i7 to do my work, maybe yes. Even with the latest mini, it will not cut it for my work. I need workstation class gfx card which the mini doesn't have. Even my quad benches less but I have lot of love for it.

I find the latest iterations of OSX boring, like there is no life. Fancy, yes. More focus on cloud apps, games which I am not really fond of and inclined to do.

I do CAD work on the powermac and fancy OS is not what I need. A mac pro maybe, but I feel that it is an overkill.

My philosopy in life is that, the simpler we live the better. I need just "enough" horsepower, not too much not too little. And the powermac serves it right on the spot with what I do. It is easier to work with, change HDD's or upgrade it, it has an optical drive, DVI output, FW800/400, Bluetooth and Airport, expansion slots, almost anything that a mac pro can offer, except for the number of drive bays a mac pro has.

Consider how hard it is to upgrade a hard disk on a mini? On a power mac it is easy, flip a door and everything is there, easily accessible.

Just wondering what version of mac os x do you run ? 10.4 tiger or 10.5 leopard ?

Don't tell anyone else on the forums, but I downgraded both my intel MacBooks to snow because lion is a pos. I still believe lion is apple's Vista. Now I gotta pay $20 for mountain and hope it is Apple's win 7? Bull crap! Lion wouldn't even run decently on my 2011 MBP. All that stupid eye candy and lame crap makes for a substandard os, and apple should be ashamed of themselves.

Leopard on dual processor powermac G4's, PowerBook G4, iBook G4 and powermac G5's. Tiger on the PCI Graphics powermac G4, and OS9 on my B&W powermac G3.

Wow , lol that is a lot fo power pc macs , you must really like power pc .

Pm g4 sawtooth think it is a 450?
iBook g4 12"
iMac g3 x2 (600 MHz & 700 MHz)
Pm g5 dual 2.0
Emac 1ghz

The following are in my garage, non functional:
Pm g5 dual 1.8
iMac g3 500mhz
Pm g3 b&w 300mhz?

I'm waiting to be featured on an episode of hoarders.

I found Tiger much better on this same machine and 4600Ti GPU. It was noticeably laggy in finder with 10.5. Leopard was fine on 1.67GHz Powerbook and 2.1Ghz G5 imac.

Tiger is faster on all power pc macs , even on the G5 in my opinion . With that said leopard has much better software if you have a big of enough hard drive or a firewire external hard drive I would reccomend you guys dual boot leopard and tiger you can have the best of both worlds if you want to .

Oh really? I guess my two Sawtooth's must have magic powers then because they are both faster on Leopard.

You're the same guy that asked what OS you should run in the "Tiger or Leopard?" thread. So you don't even know which OS you should run yourself yet you tell others what is best for them as if you know. I'm confused.
