What type can I / can't I use?? 2.5" SATA - beyond that, are they all pretty much the same? I have an early 2009 white macbook. I have an opportunity to pick up an intel X25-M ssd from a friend...

Z zachsilvey macrumors 6502 Dec 8, 2010 #3 SSDs are sort of an area where you do get what you pay for. Crucial, Intel and OWC are your best bet. Before actually buying a drive look at some reviews to see how it stacks up against the competition in terms of speed. Also here is a good resource http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=736
