ok so i went with apple plan for iPhone x. comes this friday. my 7 plus was in perfect condition for trade in. today at work i dropped it and the back case is scratch along with lens. i have apple care on it. do i wait till my x comes and then use apple care to fix mine before i turn it in? Does apple care transfer to my new device so would it count against my 2 services? How much if i have a third party fix it?

thanks

Apple Care+ does not transfer from device to device. And if I remember correctly, when I traded in my older iPhone for a newer one, the Apple sales person inspected the old phone for damage and workability. You have to figure how much it will cost you to repair the 7+ under Apple Care and compare it to how much you will lose on the trade in as is. Don't forget, your Apple Care + still requires you to pay a deductible.

ok i guess i will go to the store and see what it would cost for apple care to fix or what they will take off on trade in. The phone is shipping to my house so not sure how i trade old phone in. my first time going this route.
thanks for the quick reply
