Upgrade question

Hi,
I want to preorder iPhone X and although I’m on T-Mobile’s jump program, I prefer to sell my current phone and pay it off. My question is, do I need to wait for the new phone before selling so I don’t lose my iCloud Photo Library? As in, if I temporarily wipe my iPhone and use an old android for a couple days, will my photos stay there?

Also, anyone know if I can pay off my current 7 in store? Am I allowed to do this after upgrading on the jump program?

Your photos should stay there under your iCloud acct as long as you have them backed up
