    Hey All.

    I have a mid 2007 17" MBP - 2.6 GHz - 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2.

Looking to upgrade the ram to 4GB, and just a couple of questions.

    - Any preferred brand? (Kingston, etc)
    - Will I be able to sell my 2 GB ? (any market for it, or just keep it, etc)
    - I live in Ontario Canada, so any vendor recommendations appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You'll find answers to this and many other commonly asked questions under the Guides tab at the top of this page:

If you have questions that these sources doesn't cover, you can check to see if it has been answered in another thread by doing a Google search of the forums. I hope this helps!

Brand not really affects anything i guess. Go for a branded set, like kingston, crucial and you would be fine. I guess there is not really a market for 2x1GB sticks. I have 3 of them for sale too, but don't know how much to sell them for. I don't think i could get more than 7-8 USD for each:D.. They are really cheap nowadays.

Maybe store them and sell them in 1-2 years when DDR3 it's going to be standard:p

this might be slightly off topic, but im going to use this thread.

I upped my 2gb to 4 gb on my 2007 MBP and noticed a dip in the battery.
Does upping the ram drain the battery faster?

    Thanks!:D

To the OP, go with crucial.
As for selling the left overs, you will get little for the ram. especially since its laptop ram, and most of the lappys come with 2 now anyway. but good luck.
