I am doing an upgrade swap and she didn't even know the phones had different SIM cards (neither did I lol). She told me what I had to do was swap the SIM cards, nope. Now I have to go to a store and deal with 48293482309 people trying to get new phones. Great.

My manager and Rep both knew what they were talking about when I asked, do hopefully it goes smooth.

The rep gave me 3 cards so I didnt lose her number.

I hope my Upgrade swap goes smooth. I'm just going to do what it says on ATT's website.

However, if the number you used to order your device is NOT the number you intend to use with your iPhone 4, follow these simple steps when your device arrives and an ATT representative will help you activate.

1. As soon as you receive your new iPhone 4, charge your device fully.
2. Contact AT&T at 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from a different wireless device. At the prompt, enter the wireless number that received the upgrade to iPhone 4.
3. At the next prompt, choose option #2 to activate your phone on a different mobile number, and an AT&T representative will help you from there.
4. After speaking with the AT&T representative, you will be instructed to launch iTunes (www.itunes.com) and connect your device.

HAH! I've talked to 10 reps about that, a regional manager, and vice president for the past 2 hours. That information is completely false. I am left with an unactivated iPhone 4, and 2 dead 3GS's....

Same with me. They said somethings wrong with my sim card. Yeah, sure. They told me I have to go to an At&t store tomorrow to get a new one. I'm hating at&t SO BAD right now. I'm left phoneless too >_<

Oh great, that's ****ing awesome. Leave it to ATT.

Oh my ****ing God so I go to the ATT store to get it fixed and they don't even have the new iPhone 4 SIM cards in. Won't get them in until tomorrow.

You can call at&t and they'll do it over the phone by sending out a signal thingy to activate your micro sim.

Has anyone been able to do the swap successfully? Either @ AT&T or over the phone?

Wait, you can still upgrade through iTunes right?

YES. That is if you bought the phone on the line you want to use it on. We all bought on different lines since we were not eligible. Now there is where the problem starts.

Someone in another thread did, but they still ****ed it up.

im hoping the apple "geniuses" are a little bit more competent tomorrow, but the fact that the carrier doesnt know what to do gives me little hope. :(

Well I hope when I can get the new SIM cards tomorrow that it'll be working. Until then I hope my mom is really ****ing careful with my iPhone 4.
