So my mom was all of a sudden eligible for the $199 3Gs upgrade... She already has the 3G and is willing to let me have her upgrade. I'm on the same plan as her and am not eligible obviously. I have a few questions about this though. First, does AT&T allow this? If they do, can Apple do the same in their retail stores or do i need to go to an AT&T store? And lastly, If I do this will her contract or my contract be pushed up for 2 years? Please reply if you know the answer to any of these questions. Thanks! :D

Yes, you can upgrade using her upgrade. AT&T does allow it. Apple will activate it under the eligible upgrade number, and instruct you to go to AT&T to have the sim reprogrammed. On my family account, it shows her upgrade got the 2 year contract upgrade.

hope this helps,
