I upgraded, but can't say I love it. If it is supposed to fix the battery drain, I don't think it does. It also doesn't sync my Audiobooks, so that is a bug not in 3.0.

I will upgrade when it is officially released. It is beyond me why people install a beta release and then complain that it doesn't work correctly.

I will think about upgrading when it is actually released. Although I'll need to see if it breaks the internet tethering ability that I activated on the phone. If it breaks it then I won't upgrade.

It is definitely worth updating. Even as a beta release it is more stable than 3.0. Safari is at least 8x faster on 3G, and Wifi! Boot up is 2 faster.. If you CAN upgrade, then upgrade!

Will wait for official. I ran the 3.0 betas before 3.0 came out, but don't see the point in updating to a .x where the changes aren't that significant if any.

if ^ is true then that's a reason to update but still i'll wait for official

and by CAN he means, that you are a developer. Don't try the upgrade unless you are (i.e., don't try getting the upgrade from some friend).

isnt that the truth! I don't understand why people just don't wait

So true. I was a beta tester, and downloaded all the betas for 3.0. That go to be very nerve-wracking. I had to worry each time if I was screwing up my one and only iPhone.

I decided to sit this one out. I very much look forward to the OFFICIAL release of 3.1, and to AT&T sanctioned MMS!!!

I will, either when it's officially released, or when the GM comes out, just like with 3.0.

I'm one of those weird people who waits for stuff to be officially released before loading it on to my computer/phone. I do not want to take a chance loading a beta application or worse an OS onto my phone as I use the phone every day.

I'm tempted to install it, but I am normally one of the people that does wait for the official release.

I updated to 3.1 on my new 3GS and love the new bluetooth access to Voice Control. Worth the upgrade for that alone. Not seen any problems whatsoever...seems very stable.

I checked "no way in hell" but I would have preferred something like "No, I plan to wait for the final release". If I read that if you were on the 3.1 Beta you can get a particular feature then maybe I would consider installing it. But otherwise I will just wait.

It does help battery IMO. After 3.1, I got 8 hours of USAGE on the 2G iPhone. This included lots of music, browsing, some 3D games, some 2D games, and other application use. In 3.0 it was 4-5 hours, and I was satisfied with that.
