Upgrade to 3G

Have just upgraded from 2G to 3G.....The biggest problem is my batterie life has dropped off the scale.It last no more than a day and half.My 2G even with videos and saffari lasted much longer.Emails are also not coming through until i open the mail App.
Can i turn off anything like 3G.Is that possible?😱

You can turn off 3G.
Shut off your WiFi when you are not using it.
Dim the screen to the lowest you can be comfortable with.
Set mail to fetch hourly or manually.
