I have an iPhone 6 which I am planning to give to my daughter as her first iPhone. It is currently running iOS 11. Should I upgrade it to iOS 12? Just don’t want to slow it down any more than it already is.

The whole point of iOS 12 was to speed up older devices. Although, you should’ve got the battery replaced before the 31st December if you haven’t already.

Upgrade it, iOS12 is much better than iOS11. Some have complained about battery consumption issues but, issues will get sorted out in future updates just like every version before it.

Upgrade it. iOS 12 is better in every way to iOS 11 and will smooth things out.

And that is coming from a person sitting on iOS 9.0.2 with his 6s+.

My wife upgraded her iPhone 6 to iOS 12 and was happy she did. On iOS 11 she was about to give up on it. I was actually urging her to upgrade to a newer phone, but she doesn't use her iPhone as much as I use mine. Now that she is on iOS 12 she no longer has a desire to upgrade the device.

Yes. It will noticeably speed up the phone. It'll be like a new.

Great, thanks for all the suggestions. That was my hope but wanted to hear from people who have already done this with the same phone since there’s no going back :(
