I am trying to restore iOS5.0.1 using redsn0w (redsnow -> Extra -> Even More)

1. I selected iPhone2,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw
2. I selected remote blob

But it said that there is no remote blob for this device. In this case, how can I restore iOS 5.0.1

If you are on 5.1.1 now you can try iFaith to extract blobs for 5.1.1

If you are on anything else you cannot restore without blobs

I am on iOS 4.1

Then you cannot go up to 5.0.1 since there's no shsh blobs saved on Cydias server for that device.
Use tiny umbrella and see what blobs are available for your phone.
You can only restore to those firmware versions or the latest 6.0.1

No matter how many times it's asked you can't restore the firmware unless you have the shsh blobs for it. Since that is the whole reason we are told to save it in 1st place.
