iPhone Upgrade to IOS 8.0 then downgrade back to 7.1.2?

As the title states, can I upgrade to IOS 8.0 (GM probably being released today) and if i want to go back to 7.1.2 to jailbreak, can I?

You can only do this if the 8.0 is in beta

Really? Couldn't you downgrade back to IOS 6.x when IOS 7 GM was released as long as they were still signing 6. Using DFU mode to restore. Then rejailbreak.

Why wouldn't the same apply with IOS 8 GM?

You can return to 7.1.2 as long as Apple signs it.

On that day they will most likely stop signing 7.1.2 and that would be the end of time to restore back to ios 7.

Probably not that day, they stopped signing iOS 6 2 days after release.

Apple narrowed the overlap on signing windows, last time it was only hours, we have gone through 19 firmware upgrades since iOS 6

True, now they do it pretty fast but never know.
They might let it open for a few days or for just a few hours.
