Carrier Upgrade to Verizon Edge at Apple Store?

I would like to go to the apple store in my area on Friday 9/20 to upgrade to the 5s. Will you be able to upgrade to Verizon Edge program at Apple store or must this be done at Verizon Location?

Yes, can be done at Apple store, but it seems to depend on the employee - YMMV.

How about online Apple Store? I have an order on back order through Verizon so I can't check through the Apple Store online.
