Upgrade Win XP to Win 7 with Parallels 6

My MacBook Pro has Parallels 6. Next to upgrade from Win XP to Win 7. How do I do this? I have been unsuccessful at locating the instructions. The computer is a 2.33 ghz with Intel Core 2 duo, 4g ram and plenty of disc space. Thanks, I really appreciate any help.

Is your copy of Win 7 a full version of Win 7 or an upgrade?

If the former, I'd simply create a new virtual machine in Parallels for it and not bother upgrading; much easier this way.

Well for one thing, there is no upgrade path from XP to windows 7. you need to install a fresh copy of windows 7, so back up your data.
