Shall I upgrade to the iPad 3 when it comes out? Would I benefit if it does the same thing?

I'm fine with owning the iPad 1 (I'm not bothered about it not being the latest and greatest)

If it does the same thing, then no, how could you possibly benefit?
Wait until it comes out. You can't spend your money on it until then anyway. Then decide if it offers something you think is worth the money.
