seeing as it's the day before thanksgiving, and the holiday shopping season is already in full swing
i'm going to say no new model this year
they've updated in september/october or march.
there's one update here in january, but it was only a hardware modification, no new specs, features version number or price.

The new model won't be until next year.
The current 4k box is fine for streaming, as long as you don't want any services which rely on HLG (such as BBC 4k content, or NHK), or VP9 (YouTube 4K). Other downsides which may or may not get fixed - it's too slow and has far too little storage for Apple Arcade to work well, the remote is terrible and isn't backlit, and it has no always on "hey Siri".
