upgraded 2009 4,1 vs. genuine 2012 5,1

I am considering purchasing a 2009 4,1 that has been upgraded to 12Core 3.06Ghz 5,1 spec.

Are there any downsides (apart from use/age of course) to getting of these, versus a genuine last of the line 2012 model?

not entirely true. I noticed on several occasions that the fans of a flashed 4,1 might act up if an original Apple Radeon 5770 will be installed whereas a real 5,1 never did that and stayed calm all the time (while the GPU was idle of course).

You either need to pay more for a pair of de-lidded CPU, or go through a much harder upgrade process.
