i just recently upgraded an old iBook i had lying around the house with a new stick of ram and a new hd, and after finally installing OS X 10.2.4 through target disk mode i get a kernal panic. i tried putting the old stick of ram back in but still got the message so i don't think it's the new stick, or the hd because i can connect it through target disk and it sounds relatively normal when it spins.

tried resetting PRAM and NVRAM, ran disk permissions test since i'm able to boot into safe mode but neither of them helped.

i'm new to mac and learning/making it up as i go along. any help would be appreciated.
