I just upgraded my hard drive and the new 500 gig seems jiggle when the machine is moved like it is not secure. Now the old drive the 250 gig had these studs on it I take it those secure it in place is there a way to remove those and place them on the new drive did i miss something or will a piece of Velcro or glue do the trick?

You should use the studs- they fit into small holes in the bracket that holds the drive in place. IIRC you need a small hex screwdriver to take them out and put them in the new drive.

The studs and rubber grommets need to be transferred to the new drive.

For reference, if your machine is the unibody design, the instructions are in the user manual. They require a Torx driver (I think a #6, but it's mentioned in the instructions too).

Check iFixit.com - they have guides for just about any model.

ahh

I see so they do come off I thought they where part of the drive's housing and could not be removed ok will get the driver to remove them it is a hex or ?
