Upgraded to Leopard from Tiger and have a "Standard" account. Need to have administrative rights to obtain latest software. When type in user name and password to create administrative rights, message says the password is wrong although it is correct.

I've tried changing the password by inserting the Leopard install disK and am able to create a new password but then the same problem occurs again when I try to change my "Standard account" to an "administrator account"

Do I need to go back to the Tiger install disk? Doesn't make sense to me that I should because I can obtain a new password but it just doesn't work to create an "administrator account".

    Help appreciated.
