I bought a new SE (2020) yesterday and have it running at almost 100%. I say "almost" because I still show "No Data" for both the "Walking Asymmetry" and "Walking Steadiness" functions in the "Health" app. (Other functions under "Mobility" work fine.)

I upgraded in order to specifically track this type of data for myself, so I'm a bit taken aback right now. I've only used the new phone for one day so far - perhaps these metrics need more than one day's data to function? Can anyone confirm that?

If that's not the case, what do I need to do to get these features to work?

Thanks!

I’ve noticed in the normal step counter that sometimes it won’t update the information for quite a while. I’ll walk 100 steps then look at my phone and it’ll show nothing. Walk another 50 steps- nothing. Walk another 20 steps - nothing.
But then if I launch and then quit the Photos app (gotta force quit it), the step counter will wake up and then show all my previous steps.
It’s definitely an annoyance.

I’ve never played with the other walking functions so I don’t know anything about them but maybe try the same trick as I did above.
Walking metrics (not just counting steps) may require a lot of processing and a large data set before it can display some sort of information.

Also I’ve found that the step counter at least works best when the phone is in a front cargo pocket when wearing pants that have those, compared to being in a back pocket. In my experience, back pocket carrying isn’t as accurate.

Thanks for your response, now i see it. My phone's always in my front pocket, so I can't verify accuracy vs other pockets. Never experienced what you're experiencing with the Photos app.

Today, I finally got a reading for Walking Asymmetry - 0% which is excellent, but I can't believe that I'm walking "perfectly". I also noticed that the little graph for "Walking Steadiness" only shows Month/6 Months/Year, so I guess that it needs at least one month of data before it can report anything? IOW, a few days of walking isn't enough (not a large enough data set)?
