In a nice place..
So, I purchased the QuickTime Pro upgrade yesterday, but I am still having issues opening most of my mpg/mpeg files. They are just standard mpeg1, and mpeg2 files, but they won't open. Isn't the upgrade also supposed to allow imovie to open these files? Right now I am not see the benefit of the $30 bucks. Am I doing something wrong?

You need the QuickTime 6 MPEG-2 Playback Component for mpeg2 playback. not QT pro. do you know what codec is used with the mpeg1 file? Once you have opend the mpegs I think you will have to export them as a DV stream to get them into imovie. Mpeg1 don't export the audio.
