Upgraded today to the 256GB model. Boy is it much faster than the mini 4! I also will be more prepared for future IOS versions, although in 2-4 years when the iPad Mini 7 is out and IOS 15 is released it will probably be slower. But for now it's well equipped for IOS 12 and iPad OS 13. Anyone else have a Mini 5 and how are you liking it? Besides speed, RAM, apple pencil support and such what are the advantages over the Mini 4?

Loving mine as well. Definitely a long time overdue upgrade from my mini 2.
My only gripe with the 5 is that the bezels are much taller than the mini 2. Other than that, it's been a joy to use, and performance is great.

Good topic for making youtube videos (this is applicable to everyone)
Seems like the mini 4 supports iOS 13 but it's still worth mentioning cursor support
Newer, better bluetooth 5.0, connecting multiple pairs of Airpods / headphones at once

Can you explain what you mean? I have a mini 2 myself and have considered upgrading. Isnt it the same body with the same screen size?

With the Mini 4 onwards they made the body slightly taller and thinner. I won’t agree with the term ”much”, however. The difference is pretty subtle though enough to sometimes warrant a switch of case and unfortunately also a new generation of smart covers as the old ones don’t snap on correctly.

The body of the mini 5 is taller, meaning the bezels are slightly larger.

The Apple iPad mini 5 and mini 4 might look the same, but the iPad mini 5 offers several hardware upgrades.

For those with an iPad mini 4, you'll likely notice quite a big difference in performance if you upgrade to the mini 5, along with a more capable front camera, Apple Pencil support and the option of more storage.

It's an expensive upgrade though and all the differences are under the hood rather than on the surface, so some may find it hard to justify.

For those looking to choose between the iPad mini 4 and the iPad mini 5, the 5 is the one to go for if you have the budget. You might find the iPad mini 4 significantly cheaper elsewhere, but remember it is already four years old.

Yeah I thought about keeping the 4, but I figured the next OS would slow it down even more so I upgraded. The Mini 5 is much such faster.

The 5 is fantastic! I stopped using my 4 as it was soooo slow but kept it in case apple never refreshed them. As soon as there was a rumor of the 5, I sold the 4. Couldn't be happier with.

I'm considering it now. Just found out yesterday my Mini 2 isn't going to get iOS 13!

I played around with the new Mini in store. The new Mini and the new Air are probably the current sweet spot in terms of value for money within the whole iPad lineup.
