I'd go with the alum mb personally. The lighted keyboard is superconvinient to have. Plus I love the build quality.

But only the more expensive 2.4 has the illuminated keyboard, not the 2.0

Take the new alum anyhow [not that my opinion's worth anything]. It's a completely new generation, and as the earlier posters have been saying, seems more inclined to benefit from Snow Leopards architecture.

🙄 My first-gen BlackBook hasn't cracked, squeaked, or chipped in 28 months of ownership.

Well in the 2 years I've owned mine, the case has cracked. The first signs appeared in January... 1 month after the warrenty expired. currently all help in place with tape.

Thinking of going to the Apple store and doing a little moaning, see if I get it fixed for free because it is a fault.
