I just got a pop-up on my Mac to enable notifications for "UpgradeHelper". I've never heard of it and can't find anything on it either. Anybody know?

It should be an app installed somewhere on your system. Have you tried to search UpgradeHelper with Spotlight?

Yeah, I can't find it anywhere on my Mac. But spotlight did send me to an "iBoost" site that claimed it was a Wacom product. Nothing about it on Wacom's site. I think I'll give them a call tomorrow.

A sea of green
What is the exact text of the notification? What icon is associated with it? Please post a screenshot, if possible.

Consider the possibility that the popup asking to enable notifications is lying. That is, it could be scareware, coming from a browser notification, for example.

Here's a couple of my recent posts regarding scareware:

Yes, since I had never heard of it I was not going to give it any permissions. But Wacom claimed ownership. As part of the tablet driver. I guess that's why searching for it came up blank.

Edit: And Login Items did have an 'umbrella' Wacom entry with 4 items but no further specifics.

Yeah, it was there in /Library/LaunchDaemons. Wonder why search returns no hits.
