Think it's time to upgrade. I have a 13'' m1 pro but I mostly use it for work, it has a bunch of things plugged into it and doesn't move from my desk.

The 2018 MBP 16GB over 1000 battery cycles but says status normal. I carry it around with me and do basic things (emails, youtube, etc). Laptop runs hot. Fan is blows a lot. Battery lasts 1-2 hours. Intel based. My MBP m1 battery lasts a while and doesn't get hot.

Maybe thinking air m1, m2, or m3, since it's more portable, but I heard these don't have fans?

Also thinking maybe just another pro 13'' m1 or m2. Heard the 14'' pros were really nice but probably probably more than my needs but and going from 14'' to 13'' and vice versa would mess me up.

Just upgraded my MBP 13” 2015 to a MBA 15” m5 myself as good discounts of 10% already. A massive jump in performance as you can imagine, and thinner and lighter too.

Air doesn't have a fan, but doesn't really need one with Apple Silicon for "Basic things" as you describe. Since you have a Pro for work already, I think an Air would be a good choice for personal use. Personally I favor the M2 or above so you get MagSafe, M1 Air doesn't have it. But if that feature isn't important to you and you find a good value on M1, Vaya con Dios.

Why don’t you buy a mac mini, just a studio display or even a hub and use your M1 pro on the go?
So things can stay plugged in the hub/monitor and just a single USB-C cable goes in the MB
