Hi All..

I'm taking the forums advice and I'll upgrade the RAM myself to avoid Apple's crazy pricing. That said, it doesn't look like Crucial or the other sites have added the Ram for the 2020 iMac. Is last years version the same or do I need to wait to order it?

Ram is ram all you need is the proper specifications. DDR4 2666mhz if my memory serves me, no clue on whether they still use the laptop variety in them machines, you will need to check that.

DDR4 PC4-21300 2666MHz 260-pin SODIMM (2667MHz) - listed for imac 2020 on mrmemory.co.uk earlier today

Go with Samsung. It will work:
Hi, I am trying to use this ram, but my new iMac will not boot up with all 4 32gb sticks... only 2 at a time... I can actually insert 3 of the 32gb sticks and one of the original 4gb sticks and it starts! Any clues about the 4 stick problem? I have swapped the sticks around so it is not one error one.

Just got my 27" iMac this morning. I ordered it with the base 8GB, and had the store I bought it from add 2x32GB modules. The original 8GB stayed in place, giving me total of 72GB - never had so much RAM! I checked the hatch on the back to see if it was in - replacing it would be trivially easy. Not so much on the 21" though.

You RAM doesn’t work at full speed. You should remove the 2x8GB modules.

I agree... you can't mix different size RAM in the 2020 27" iMacs. Surprised the folks that installed it didn't know that... it's been a big point of contention and even Apple had to update their own installation guides to mention it.
