I was wondering.. if I participate in the up-to-date program for upgrading my new rmbp to ML, can install it also on my other macs?

Reason I am wondering: if you buy ML you can install it on 5 macs. If I can get it for free for the rmbp, but have to buy it for my other mbp and mini, then why bother? I can just buy it and install it on all three without going through the hassle of requesting the free upgrade for one of them.

Well the Apple has their OS X Mountain Lion Up-To-Date Program.

If it does come from the Mac App Store (like Lion did when you bought it) and you could right click on that download using the steps in the article How to make a bootable Lion install disc or drive so hopefully one will be able to that with the Mac App Store Mountain Lion installer.

Lastly if you keep the Mac App Store in the App Store application purchased menu one should be able to re-download Mountain Lion (10.8.x) like any other App Store application.
