Hi all

I have been reading the differences between the series 5 and series 7 Apple Watch and the only question I can not seem to find is how the brightness is in a darkish room

I find my series 5 ok apart from when I am in low lit environments and look at my watch and it still feels way to dark. I have tried the settings and just could not get it to be brighter. I have read that the series 7 is brighter in the day but just slightly but it’s much brighter when in its sleep state than the series 5 but I can not find anything about the series 7 been brighter in a low lit environment than the series 5

Has anyone found that the series 7 is brighter in very low lit rooms or streets than the series 5 as I own the stainless steel version of the 5

I am trying to figure out if I want to upgrade. I would have went the ultra route if they had a black stainlesss steel version but not liking the colour but not even sure if that’s brighter in low lit rooms either.

Thanks for any help.

series 7 is still dim. That said I’m enjoying the newer chip compared to the 1st gen SE which had the same chip as the 5 I believe. The 7 is just buttery 100% of the time compared to the previous chip.

I never had a Series 5 as I went from a 4 to a 6. I currently have two 7s and one 8. I've never had a problem with the brightness. They seem to adjust very well for me, never too dark or bright. Of course I have it turned all the way up in settings. I am a poor sleeper so I am often up during the night. It's before 5am now and I am in the dark other than my MacBook light and my 7 looks good. I wear AW 24 hours a day. Mine work great in all variations of lighting. I hope this helps.
