Let's say you had the opportunity to upgrade your iPhone every two years. Based on what we’ve seen from Apple lately would you prefer upgrading to models with even or odd numbers? So, iPhone 15, 17, 19… or 16, 18, 20…?

Does it matter, really? Depends on what you currently have and when you last upgraded. There was a time when I upgraded every year, but when I had the 11 Pro Max, I skipped the 12 Pro Max. My girlfriend upgrades every year, so I see what's new, whether her photos are better than mine. I've gotten the 13 Pro Max and then the 15 Pro Max. My girlfriend once again upgrade to the 16 Pro Max but I'll wait until the 17 Pro Max comes out. I never thought of it as an even/odd thing.

They used to do “S” years before the iPhone 7. But it didn’t mean anything. The 6S was such a superior phone compared to the 6.

True - and the 4S was a HUGE upgrade (okay, debatable) over the 4 with Siri.

5S though, I don't recall offering any significant benefit at all over the 5 other than later iOS support.

I do upgrade every 2 years due to an employer subsidy... happens to hit on Odd years. So not really a preference, just "how it is."

The 5S was a huge step, introducing Touch ID ☝️

In the „S“ days, the S always was the better choice, perfecting it’s predecessor. The non S mostly introduced a new design.

Currently done regular 12, 14 Pro and now 16 Pro. Been on a renewal of a 2 year contract each time.

Previous upgrades were Nokia N95, 3GS, 4s, Galaxy S4, 6s broke and got an 8 mid cycle, then Huawei P30 Pro and then paid £180 to upgrade early to iPhone 12.

Same here - 12 - 14 - 16.....

But I use Apple Card financing 0% for 24 months.

If Apple Card ever does 12 months, I'd be upgrading each year.....

I don't upgrade every two years, but I've owned mostly even numbers: 4, 5, 6s, 12 mini, 16 pro.

I wonder if it has anything to do with my preference for even numbers. I generally find then more rounded and pleasant than odd numbers.
