Upgrading Final Cut Express 3 to 3.5

Okay, I'm trying to update my copy of Final Cut Express 3.0 to 3.5, but it the update will not show up in Software Update, so I checked on Apple's website for the update, and I found it but it would not accept my serial number. This is quite aggravating, any help would be appreciated.

After a bit of looking, I found that I might have to pay $99 for a 0.5 update, which is crazy. If this is the case, I'll just wait until FCE 4 comes out.

Really? That's insane. I guess I'll just wait until version 4. Any ideas on when that could be coming out?
