Someone gave me the Snow Leopard upgrade for Christmas. But my IMac (Intel) has Tiger 10.4.11. My understanding is that you have to upgrade to Leopard first. So I bought the 10.5 software. But my computer won't read the disc. It just spits it out with nothing showing on the screen.

The version I bought says Max OSX Leopard Install DVD 2Z691-6037-A.

What am I doing wrong?

You can go straight from Tiger to Snow Leopard. And because you have an intel mac, give it a shot (otherwise it wouldn't work becaue SL only runs on intel)

You can do it without a problem, indeed that's what I did with my white MB.
You can even perform a clean installation with the update version of SL.

Not knowing what all those numbers/letters mean, I could be off base here, but, to satisfy your curiosity, maybe someone can confirm my theory, or blow a hole in it.

Is the disc gray or black with a big X on it? If it's gray, it is machine-specific. Thus, if it's not for your exact model, it won't work.
