Upgrading from 2010 Mac mini to 2012 Mac mini

Hello,

I've had my 2010 Mac mini for 6 years now and have never had any issues. It currently has an SSD in it and I would like to place that SSD in a 2012 Mac mini without having to reformat it. Is this possible? Would I be able to install it to the 2012 Mac mini and just start using it? Thanks.

I'm actually on the El Capitan beta version 10.11.6 on my 2010 mini.

just go for the full install upgrade, el cap is free for 2012

I have a souped up 2012 and want to step down to a 2010. I no longer need the power and am short on cash. Lets make a deal!
