Upgrading from 2018 MBP to 2020 MBP

You have a solid workstation there, before you do anything - make a few backups (at least on 2 separate external media).
I'm uncertain if you have AppleCare+ on it or not.
You'll get a lot less with the trade-in program from Apple if you where to sell it yourself. The performance increments will be ... incremental say 15-30% yet we don't know what you use with your MBP currently.
I think it's a big hassle and more expense for you to upgrade for incremental performance boost. If you had a dual-core system from 2016/2017 and only 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports I'd say go for it.

In addition to what has been said, I didn't see a "why" in the OP's intent to upgrade. Your computer is a tool - meant to achieve a certain objective. If your current rig is paid for, and is doing everything you expect it to do - then why upgrade? Use it until it no longer does what you want it to do, or your needs increase to require a more capable machine.

If you're happy with the keyboard I'd be tempted to keep it.
If you don't like the keyboard or are worried about the failure rate, I'd be offloading it whilst it still has AppleCare (if you do - actually it's covered by the keyboard repair program for another 2 years so ... I'd get rid of it some time before that expires).
I do NOT think these 2016-2019 machines will be worth very much once AppleCare on them expires, due to the chronic non-user serviceable keyboard reliability issues.

Unless your uses are on the very extreme end of the spectrum, it's a waste of money IMO. Is there anything that you need to do that you can't do on your 2018?
Great advise everyone - I greatly appreciate your opinions. It does have apple care + that expires in February of 2022. Honestly you all will probably laugh - i mostly do basic stuff - but I am in the computer all day every day with tons of windows open, lots of programs running - but heavy lifting, not really. I was hoping for a 14 inch this refresh. I guess with Apple care what I have is more than ample for my use. Also I have no issue with the current keyboard. I guess I can save some money - unless anyone can convince me otherwise. Also - I did not consider the amount of trouble/labor that it takes to change machines.
