I've got Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz RAM in my 2011 MacBook Pro (as in signature), and it runs at full speed. Not only is it recognised properly as 1600MHz by OS X, it also saw a significant speed increase (around 15-20%) in Geekbench 3 64-bit memory benchmarks.

The benchmarks were also compared to 1333MHz 16GB RAM via results posted by other users (exact same model of MacBook Pro).

I just wanted to put it out there, that the 2011 MacBook Pros can actually utilise 1600MHz RAM at full speed.

P.S. I fully realise that the RAM speed difference makes no noticeable difference in real-world usage, but if you're considering the Corsair Vengeance RAM anyway, it's nice to know that you're getting the most from it!
