I'm wanting to upgrade, and I move around a lot so I don't really like carrying a separate camera on me.

I'm visiting LA, but I'm from overseas, so I'm looking for an unlocked one. It's $649 + 9% tax from the Apple store, or about $550-$600 from ebay if I'm lucky (saving me $100-$150).

Is there any reason why I should opt to buy from Apple instead? Or is there a better alternative, like some reseller I am unaware of?

Peace of mind.

12 month guarantee.

Customer Service.

Tech Support.

Definitely NOT stolen, dropped or tampered with.

Agreed. The peace of mind in knowing your iPhone hasn't been compromised in anyway is well worth the extra money, IMO.

Not to mention you can send it back no questions asked for the first 30 days, no shipping cost, and no restocking fee's either going with Apple Store

Be warned your iPhone warranty won't work outside the United States

Just buy it in the Apple Store. When buying a new device like a phone, it's always best to get one you know is good to go and has full warranty.

I don't trust eBay sellers who sell at a loss. Makes little sense and something is up. Besides, getting one from the Apple is store means you get a legit one.

You are coming from overseas and you are thinking eBay? no - no - no - no - no. You don't have time.

There is no alternative big discount. Swinging by Las Vegas? No tax (~10%) there.

Thank you all for your replies! I guess I will fork over the extra $100 or so to get it directly from the Apple store.

I am actually going to Vegas for a bit, but I thought their sales tax is 8%?

That's why I placed a tilde in front of my 10. Hey man I am no U.S. bureaucrat sitting in D.C. and have all these stuff on my head, 8 - 10 close enough. I don't even know who my senator is, you are ahead!
